Our Local Weather

The climate here on the Treasure Coast is nothing short of wonderful. December thru March the daytime highs are generally in the 70's. April, May, October and November are in the 80's and our summer months of May thru September are mostly in the low 90's. In late October the cold fronts start making their way down thru Florida but largely disipate before getting here, leaving only cooler temperatures for a couple of days. Of course, we get the occasional hurricane (as we did in 2004 with two direct hits), but we generally feel effects of distant hurricanes more than the full fury.

Sunshine is the norm although afternoon thundershowers are a summertime standard. Summer is, therefore, the rainy season and winter is the dry season. We get no snow and very seldom does it frost. The winds will come and go all year long...predominately north and west in the winter and east and south in the summer.

The changes in the weather brings about changes in the fishing as baitfish and preditors move through their cycles and habitats. As temperatures change best fishing locations follow suit but with the huge diversity of waters from which to choose there's always action somewhere and it's all controlled by the weather.
